Redmi K30 Design Officially Revealed by Xiaomi The Redmi K30 is shaping up to be a decent mid-range smartphone from Xiaomi. The Chinese company revealed an official poster of the phone on Weibo which shows the design of the phone from the back. Similar to the OnePlus 7T, the Redmi K30 also has a circular ring that houses the four camera modules arranged vertically. Yes, the camera modules are arranged vertically, yet Xiaomi has gone with a circular ring. Notably, it seems like the circular ring does not have any bump like the OnePlus 7T, instead, the company may have added it to give a unique look. The circular ring also has a concentric texture with a glossy finish which seems to make the phone distinct from others. The dual-LED flash is sitting below the ring. As for the back panel colour, the Redmi K30 will likely be available in a purple hue and the glass back seems to have a matte finish, similar to the OnePlus 7T. Overall, the design of the Redmi K30 will be entirely different from the Redmi K20 which arrived with Aura Flame design. On the front, the handset will have a dual punch-hole screen- again a feature which drastically differs from the Redmi K20 with the pop-up selfie camera. Redmi K30 Confirmed to Feature Qualcomm’s 5G Chipset Qualcomm’s 5G summit will begin tomorrow where the chipmaker is expected to unveil its 2020 lineup of 5G chipsets. Qualcomm already teased mid-range 5G chipsets under Snapdragon 700 series, so there are heavy chances the Redmi K30 will feature any of the unannounced 5G SoC from Qualcomm. This news was confirmed by Lu Weibing, General Manager at Redmi on Weibo, but he did not reveal the exact model number of the chipset though. We are expecting it to be the unannounced Snapdragon 735 chipset with dual-mode 5G support. The Oppo Reno 3 Pro 5G is also expected to come with the same 5G chipset from Qualcomm. As for the other features, the Redmi K30 will have quad-camera setup on the back with a primary 60MP Sony IMX686 sensor. Xiaomi Redmi K30 Will Be Available in a 4G Variant as Well The Redmi K20 series reached several markets including India, so there’s no doubt the Redmi K30 series will also make its way to the Asian sub-continent. In India, as we already know, there’s no 5G network and the possibility of telcos launching the fifth-generation network services in the first half of 2020 are also pretty slim right now. Thanks to this reason, Xiaomi is also said to be working on a 4G version of the Redmi K30 which will also be available in China alongside the slightly pricier 5G variant. The Redmi K30 4G variant will have the same design as the 5G variant, but the hardware specs will differ. The phone is said to have Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset, up to 8GB of RAM, 64MP quad-camera setup, MIUI 11 based on Android 10 out of the box and a 4500mAh battery with 27W fast charging support.
