Xiaomi Redmi K30: 3 Key Details Revealed Firstly, the new report came from XDA Developers and these details were obtained from MIUI 11 source code. The details mentioned above belong to a Xiaomi smartphone codenamed ‘phoenix,’ but the report says the details may not belong to the Redmi K30. However, the MIUI 11 code suggests the details belong to a Redmi phone with a dual punch-hole screen. Xiaomi already confirmed the RedmI K30 would have a dual punch-hole display like the Samsung Galaxy S10+, so we can assume the Redmi K30 will indeed have the phoenix codename. Going by the source code, one of the XDA Member named kacskrz says the Redmi K30 will have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. This will be a major move considering the Redmi K20 features an in-display fingerprint scanner. Majority of the upper mid-range and flagship smartphones releasing these days are shipping with an in-display fingerprint scanner, but the Redmi K30 is said to have a side-mounted scanner. Next up, the Redmi K30 will feature a 120Hz refresh rate display and it will allow the users to switch between 60Hz and 120Hz refresh rates. This will be a significant jump considering the majority of phones now feature only 90Hz refresh rate screens, except for the Asus ROG Phone 2 which is a gaming smartphone with 120Hz screen. And lastly, the upcoming Xiaomi phone will have Sony’s yet-to-be-announced IMX686 sensor. A few weeks ago, Japanese brand Sony teased the IMX686 sensor on Chinese microblogging portal Weibo, and now, it’s said the Redmi K30 would make use of the Samsung GW1 competitor. Also, the Redmi K30 could be the first phone in the industry to come with Sony IMX686 sensor. On the front, the Redmi K30 will have a 20MP Samsung sensor and the details regarding the secondary sensor on the front are unknown at the moment. Xiaomi Redmi K30: Will it Reach India? The Redmi K30 will come as a successor to the Redmi K20 which was launched in India and China just a few months ago. The Redmi K30 will also have 5G support and it’s said to feature MediaTek’s upcoming 5G chipset. In India, we may not see telecom operators launching the 5G network at least in the first half of 2020. In the current scenario, the telcos are even running away from participating in the spectrum auction. So the non-5G variant of the Redmi K30 may reach the Indian market sometime early in 2020, but the exact launch date is unknown at the moment.
