The Trai has updated its ‘MySpeed’ portal for February 2021. The Trai data says Reliance Jio saw its average 4G download speed decline for the second month in a row. However, it is still the leading operator when it comes to 4G speeds. Reliance Jio achieved an average 4G download speed of 15.4 Mbps, which is down from 17.9 Mbps in January 2021 and 20.2 Mbps in December 2020. Reliance Jio-bp, the fuels and mobility joint venture between Reliance Industries Limited and bp, announced a partnership with BluSmart, India’s first and largest all-electric ride-hailing platform, to set up a network of commercial large scale EV (electric vehicle) charging stations. As part of the partnership, Jio-bp will set up these stations for passenger electric vehicles and fleets across the country. BluSmart, through its all-electric fleet, has been disrupting the mobility landscape by providing reliable, zero-surge and zero-tailpipe emission ride-hailing service in Delhi NCR....

Reliance Jio is the only telecom service provider in India that is currently offering In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) plans. The in-flight packs from Jio are available to both postpaid and prepaid customers of the telco, and they start at Rs 499. While Jio is the king in the prepaid mobile segment, the telco is struggling quite badly in the postpaid segment. Despite offering lower tariffs than Airtel and Vodafone Idea, Jio has not even come close to having the kind of postpaid subscriber base that Airtel and Vi does....

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the country’s national telecom regulator, amended the country’s telecom laws in January of this year, making it essential for telcos in India to provide 30-day or one-month plans as part of its prepaid offers. The decision made it necessary for Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea to provide 30-day packs as part of their prepaid offerings, highlighting how subscribers who can only choose from 28-day plans have insufficient options for managing their monthly phone bills....

Reliance Jio has now introduced a new prepaid plan of Rs 598 that comes bundled with Disney+ Hotstar VIP membership. With this new launch, the telco now has four prepaid plans which come bundled with voice calling and data benefits. The plans in question are Rs 401, Rs 598, Rs 777 and Rs 2,599. Besides, it is also offering data add-ons without calling and SMS benefits. The newly launched Rs 598 plan provides 2GB daily data and unlimited voice calling for a period of 56 days....

Reliance Jio “Aggressively” Rolling Out FTTH Products Motilal Oswal, a firm engaged in the financial services on Sunday said that revenue growth reported by Reliance Jio was largely led by a 4% increase in ARPU. The firm said that the net subscriber addition “slowed” to 5.2 million in the third quarter of the current financial year as compared to 7.3 million in the previous quarter. Motilal Oswal highlighted that the gross subscriber additions stood at 25....

Reliance Jio, India’s leading telecom operator, might not be too keen to increase tariffs owing to lower net user additions in the previous quarters. Even though the telco’s tariffs were 7-20% lesser than that of Bharti Airtel, it did not add many users during the October-December period in 2020.
